Before launch: confirm the advertising and analytics vendors actually deployed, add the operating company name and registered address, and add a working consent-management link. This document is accurate about the site's own behaviour but the vendor list must match reality.
The short version
ChessFree has no accounts, so we hold no names, email addresses or passwords. Your chess games run entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to us. The data that is collected comes from third-party advertising and analytics providers, described below.
What we collect directly
Nothing that identifies you. We do not operate a login, we do not ask for personal details, and we do not store your games on a server. Preferences such as your chosen difficulty level are kept in your own browser and never transmitted.

Cookies and consent
The site itself sets no tracking cookies. Advertising and analytics providers may set their own.
We use Google Consent Mode with storage defaulting to denied. Until you give consent, Google Analytics receives only anonymous, cookieless measurement pings and cannot identify you or follow you between sites. Where consent is required by law you will be asked before any non-essential cookie is set, and you can change that choice at any time.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR give you rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Because we hold no account data, most requests concern our advertising partners and we will direct you to them. Contact us at moribust@protonmail.com.
Children
Chess is played by children and this site is suitable for them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because we collect no personal information directly at all.

Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
